OMRÅ IN THE SPOTLIGHT AT THE VDMA PANEL DISCUSSION WITH NAEMI DENZ

Under the title ‘Områ: From flagship project to future standard?’, Sutco Managing Director Naemi Denz discussed the future of modern plastics sorting at IFAT 2026.

During the VDMA panel discussion at IFAT 2026 in Munich, OMRÅ – one of Europe’s most innovative plastic sorting projects at present – took centre stage.

The plant in Norway, built by Sutco RecyclingTechnik, is setting new standards for the modern circular economy. With a capacity of up to 90,000 tonnes of plastic waste per year and the production of ten high-quality fractions, OMRÅ ranks among the most advanced plants of its kind worldwide.

The discussion, in which Sutco Managing Director Naemi Denz also took part, focused on the development of complex sorting plants, the importance of practical project experience, and the question of how modern recycling solutions can be implemented more quickly and consistently in the future. It became clear that the technological prerequisites for efficient circular economy systems are already in place. What is crucial now is the willingness to invest specifically in modern infrastructure.

Following the panel discussion, numerous visitors took the opportunity to find out more about the OMRÅ project at our stand.

Together with the LM GROUP, we presented integrated solutions for modern recycling and circular economy systems. From sorting and compaction to automation.

The OMRÅ project demonstrates how innovative concepts can be successfully put into practice and the contribution modern sorting technology makes to an efficient circular economy of the future.
