SUTCO POLSKA at the 13th National Congress of Municipal Waste Treatment Plants

From 19 to 21 November, our team had the opportunity to take part at the 13th edition of the National Congress of Municipal Waste Treatment Plants — organized by Ekorum, this is one of the most significant events for the municipal waste management sector.

This year, the Congress took place in Wisła, bringing together industry experts, installation operators, and technology providers to discuss investment financing, technological innovations, regulatory challenges, and new legal obligations. As always, the program was filled with practical presentations, debates, and discussions addressing the everyday challenges of waste management.

On the first day, Marek Klimek, Sales and Development Manager at Sutco Polska presented “How to Prepare a Sorting Plant Modernisation? Needs, Limitations, Directions. The Role of Preliminary Market Consultations – the Brzeszcze Example”. His session focused on practical steps for preparing the modernisation of sorting plants, identifying modernisation priorities based on real system needs, and conducting effective market consultations.

A special focus of the event was on panel discussions with industry experts from different regions, who shared their experiences and current challenges.

Another highlight was the professors' debate, offered a broader perspective on topics such as recycling, textiles and biowaste.

The final day included a site visit to the new sorting plant in Brzeszcze, completed in August. The facility uses state-of-the-art automatic separation systems and has the capacity to process 35,000 tonnes of mixed waste and 10,000 tonnes of selectively collected waste annually.

We would also like to congratulate the Brzeszcze Municipal Agency, winner of the IPOK 2025 Municipal Waste Treatment Plant competition. The award-winning technology was supplied by Sutco Polska.

The event was an inspiring platform for knowledge exchange and industry collaboration.
We sincerely thank EKORUM for delivering another highly valuable and impactful edition of the Congress.
